Record number of Palm Beach County residents tested for HIV on national testing day

About 300 people were tested for HIV across Palm Beach County Monday as health officials promoted National HIV Testing Day.

That is a local record for the event, said Tim O’Connor, spokesman for the Palm Beach County Health Department.

Though the national campaign focuses on the one day, many testing sites have extended testing throughout the week as they have in the past, so final numbers will be higher, O’Connor said today.

Last year, 182 people were tested in the several-day span of the event, he said.
